The Strength of Picasso Dolph Charles: A Beacon of Inspiration in R3VOLVE Haiti (R3H)

R3VOLVE Haiti (R3H) and its entire team are in awe of the passion, determination, and work ethic of Picasso Dolph Charles. His journey is not just a testament to his spirit but a shining beacon for those who dare to dream.

Before diving headfirst into the world of artistry with R3H, Picasso dedicated years as a social worker, human rights champion, and mentor for budding social workers. His tireless advocacy for underserved families and empowering the youth with critical thinking is a testament to his dedication.

When R3H embarked on a transformative journey into artist development, producing music and films to amplify the voices of the unheard, Picasso seized the moment. Despite no prior experience in videography, his unwavering desire to learn led him to mentorship under the talented Nadège Sanon, a recent graduate of the Artist Institute with a wealth of experience in the craft.

Nadège, inspired by Picasso’s enthusiasm, conducted a videography workshop for the R3H team. Picasso didn’t just participate — he thrived, naturally gravitating towards the technical intricacies of the camera. His keen interest saw him shadowing industry professionals like Marco André Bonne and Michard Toussaint, filming alongside them on pivotal R3H projects.

His intelligence shone brightly when he ventured into video editing. But Picasso didn’t stop there. With a hunger to master his craft, he independently pursued training in photography and photo editing, even covering the cost himself. It was an image of him, certificate in hand and a smile that could light up a room, that touched the heart of Jolene, leading her to cover the training’s expenses as a tribute to Picasso’s unwavering dedication.

Today, Picasso confidently navigates both camera and film set, still with a hunger to learn, an embodiment of untapped potential with a beautiful sense of humility. This untapped potential will be realized through focus and fiery passion. His aspirations continue to soar within R3H, every day marking a new chapter in his pursuit of excellence.

His story isn’t just a testament to his strength and courage but serves as a source of inspiration for the entire team and every dreamer out there. Picasso Dolph Charles, with his radiant journey, exemplifies that with passion and perseverance, the sky’s the limit. And as he continues to evolve within R3H, the world eagerly anticipates the masterpieces he is yet to unveil.

About Me

In 2010 I visited Haiti with my dear friend Sean Penn and his organization JPHRO now known as CORE. He and his team showed me a side of Haiti that a simple guest or tourist could not see. I saw the beauty and resilience of a people held down by capitalism. I saw people struggling to pro-vide the most basic needs for their families. Haiti is meant to be a safe haven for ‘freedom seekers’ and the ‘Pearl of the Antilles’.

The challenges are great but like all Haitians, I am not deterred by challenge.

Haiti represents HOPE to all struggling peoples and one day Haiti will be a beacon of light for all underdeveloped and supressed countries in the world. This is why my family places our focus and importance on Haiti. She deserves the chance to shine. We all do.
